A Better Way to TV

Philo is bringing back what we love most about TV. We've created a modern streaming experience that combines live TV, premium, and free content, all in one place for the best value.

What is Philo?

Philo is a live television streaming service that offers consumers flexible, entertainment-focused plans starting at $25/month. The Essential plan includes 70+ top-rated channels and a library of over 75,000 on-demand titles. The Bundle+ plan offers all the channels and streaming library from Essential, plus the entire AMC+ library and access to HBO Max Basic with Ads plan and discovery+ included. Both plans include an unlimited DVR that saves recordings for a year, and Philo can be enjoyed on multiple devices with up to three streams at once. Philo also offers a Free Channels plan that lets consumers enjoy 120+ free channels without creating an account.

Our Story

Inspired by the inventor of television, Philo T. Farnsworth, Philo launched its service in 2017 with a slim 35-channel bundle. Seven years and over a hundred channels later, we've evolved from a simple television start-up into a tech-focused, premium entertainment streamer that's providing a quality live TV experience to over a million subscribers.

At our core, we're just TV fanatics working to build a better streaming service, carrying the torch of Farnsworth's legacy by continuing to invent, innovate, and iterate. In fact, our headquarters is just a stone's throw away from his original San Francisco laboratory, where he successfully transmitted the first electronic television signal. The work we put in to build this service relies on our collective passion, thoughtfulness, and diverse experiences. Our team's dedication to openness and collaboration helps us benefit from ideas and perspectives that come from unexpected places and lets us see the broad horizon of the possibilities ahead.

Our Mission

In an overwhelming landscape where consumers are frustrated by traditional cable prices, lengthy contracts, and messy equipment, Philo dares to dream of a better way to TV. Inspired by our namesake, we're reclaiming what TV should be. Our service puts the audience first, showcases cutting-edge entertainment, and connects us through the stories we love most.

We believe the streaming experience should combine all the things we love about TV without any of the hassles. That's why our teams are constantly working to improve the product, expand the content offering, deliver best-in-class customer service, and provide the best value possible.
